What is vertical wall printing?

Wall printing is a modern, high-tech printing technique that uses a specialized printer to directly apply vibrant, high-quality designs directly onto vertical surfaces. It’s perfect for creating murals, artwork, branding/logo’s and custom designs with speed and precision. Vertical wall printing is fast, high quality, and competitively priced.

Wall printing offers several advantages over traditional methods like vinyl or hand painting:

Seamless Design: No seams or gaps, unlike vinyl, which can peel or warp over time.

Versatility: Wall printing can be applied to rough or textured surfaces like stucco or brick, which vinyl cannot handle effectively.

Customization: We can print any design with no limitations on colors, gradients, or intricate details.

Durability: The print is directly applied to the surface, which means no peeling or bubbling over time. The ink is highly durable and scratch resistant by nature.

Speed: Wall printing is incredibly quick, being completed in a matter of hours.

Eco-friendly: No excess material waste, vegan ink and low power consumption ensure a light environmental footprint.

Yes, we offer design services! If you have a specific design in mind we can work with you to bring it to life. If you don’t have a design yet our team can assist in creating a custom design tailored to your space and vision. Whether you have a rough idea or a fully prepared design, we’re here to help make it perfect for your ArtWall project. Additionally, if you already have a design team, we’re happy to collaborate with them to ensure a seamless execution of your project. Just let us know how you’d like to proceed and we’ll guide you through the process!

Our wall printing technology enables us to create massive, high-impact murals and designs with exceptional detail. We can print up to 13’ high (or higher with the use of scaffolding) by as long as you desire horizontally. The printer runs on tracks and the length can be extended to suit the available space ensuring a flawless, continuous design. Up close you’ll see sharp, high-resolution details, and from afar the artwork makes a bold impression.

Our wall printer doesn’t support true full coverage in some cases because it will physically bump into the adjoining wall or ceiling etc, we can however create stunning designs 1’ offset from the floor and ceiling, and 4” from the wall edges or any obstacles like windows. We can also ‘wrap’ columns or bleed off the edge of a wall if there isn’t another adjoining wall in the way of the printer.

Every wall is unique and we design with your space in mind. If your wall has obstacles like outlets, switches, trim, or other features, we will either design around them or temporarily remove the obstacles with your permission or assistance. Temporarily flipping the circuit breaker may be required. If removal isn’t an option we will adapt the design by resizing or reshaping it to accommodate these features without compromising overall project goals.

Our printer is versatile and can print on numerous surfaces including smooth and textured walls, wood, canvas, metal, glass, and even rough surfaces like stucco and brick. Unlike vinyl, which struggles with textured or uneven walls, our printer can easily handle these surfaces making it a perfect option for challenging spaces. The printer can accommodate surface depth variations up to ¼,” meaning grout lines or ‘brick roughness’ on a brick wall can feasibly be no deeper than ¼” in order to print. If you have a specific surface in mind just let us know and we’ll determine the best approach!

Our printer is optimized for flat, vertical surfaces. We can print on walls that curve horizontally as long as the curve radius isn’t too tight. For example a long curved wall is feasible but a light pole is not. We cannot print on surfaces that curve vertically, highly irregular or rounded objects are best avoided.

The color of the wall does not affect the print, that being said, printing on a pure white wall is ideal. However if your wall is a darker color the printer can apply a white base coat to create the perfect surface for printing, ensuring the design looks vibrant and colors remain true. The printer will place and instantly cure a white base coat precisely underneath the image in real time as the color layer is placed atop it.

Yes, we can print on outdoor walls! For long-lasting durability we recommend applying a UV clear coat. With the UV-protectant and our expert application, your print is expected to last 15-20 years. Beyond that even when the image does eventually age it will do so kind of like a tattoo ages, it fades a bit but still looks cool.

We use specially formulated, low-odor UV ink that is instantly cured directly onto the surface. The eco-friendly ink is incredibly durable and scratch resistant. This ink is designed for maximum efficiency, and on average we use less than 0.4ml of ink per square foot. For perspective that’s about the same amount of ink as the contents of a standard pen refill, enough to cover large areas sufficiently without excessive waste

The UV ink is cured instantly by powerful UV lights as it’s printed, so once the print head passes, the surface is completely dry and ready to be touched. There’s no waiting time for drying, making it ideal for quick installations and immediate use

Our printing process is incredibly fast. For a typical 40 sq. ft. area, it takes around 2 hours depending on the design and the resolution (ink volume) selected. In short, our prints are finished the same day!

Our wall prints are incredibly durable. Unlike vinyl, which can peel, bubble, or suffer damage when scratched, our UV-cured ink is directly bonded to the wall surface, making it scratch resistant and long-lasting. They’re also water-resistant, so you can clean them with a wet towel without worrying about fading or damage. Plus, for outdoor applications we offer a UV protectant coating to preserve the print’s vibrancy and ensure it withstands the elements better than vinyl ever could.

Yes, wall prints are removable or can be painted over. If you’d like to change the design, simply scrape the print off smooth surfaces like glass or use a razor blade on non-porous materials. For walls, you can cover the print with a couple coats of paint if you prefer a new start. On surfaces like wood sanding is required, and for tougher materials like metal or brick/concrete, dry-ice blasting or glass bead blasting works best.
